Snow Patrol
Snow Patrol is a Northern Irish rock band formed in 1994 in Dundee, Scotland. Originally known as Shrug and later Polarbear, the group adopted the name Snow Patrol in 1997. Over the years, the band has become known for its emotional songwriting, powerful melodies, and alternative rock sound.
The band's early albums, Songs for Polarbears and When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up, received positive attention but did not achieve major commercial success. Their breakthrough came with Final Straw in 2003, which included the memorable song “Run” and established Snow Patrol as a major name in British rock.
In 2006, Snow Patrol reached an even wider audience with Eyes Open. Its hit single “Chasing Cars” became one of the band's signature songs and helped them gain international recognition. The band continued releasing successful albums, including A Hundred Million Suns, Fallen Empires, Wildness, and The Forest Is the Path.
Today, Snow Patrol continues with Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly, and Johnny McDaid. Their heartfelt songs and lasting appeal have made them an important part of modern alternative rock.
